Overview
“Stockyard Spectrum” is an interior light sculpture located in the Broadstone Stockyards residential project in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Completed in early 2020 this artwork is in a renovated 100 year old Nashville-Union Stockyards building. “Spectrum Stockyard” is 8′ high by 80′ long and is created with a computerized LED light system and architectural panels in a long hallway.
Goals
The goals were to create a site-specific artwork that was dynamic with a 3- dimensional aspect, even though the space was limited by the architecture of a hallway.
Process
The collaboration process involved discussions with the developer and the art consultant about the use of the hallway and their desire to have an engaging artwork for future residents and guests.
Additional Information
"Stockyard Spectrum" has twelve different light programs that change throughout he year. I asked for input from the stakeholders during the creation of the different light programs and we discussed ideas about annual events in Nashville and various holidays.
