Overview

ASG first heard about plans for this new place of worship at a liturgical conference in California where Jeff met parishioners. Twelve years later their sparkling new worship space was dedicated during a glorious desert sunset!

Goals

Specific symbolism in the Baptistry Windows/Doors (shown), Altar/Crucifix Window (shown), Reservation Chapel Windows (shown), Shrines, Chapels, etc. create a sense of place and identity within varied worship areas surrounding this octagonal Nave. Blue and green "water" along the bottom of floor-level windows further unify the suite and acknowledge the church's outreach on both sides of the nearby Rio Grande. On a practical level the Windows for Mother Cabrini modulate harsh Chihuahuan Desert sun.

Process

A “Master Plan” approach to the design of the stained glass allowed the Windows for Mother Cabrini to be created as a symphonic whole that is an integral part of the liturgy and architecture. To date over 60% of the Master Plan’s stained glass has been completed and installed.
