Overview
Gateway Island sculpture, Steel, paint, LEDs. 23 ft x 15 ft x 8 ft.
Goals
“Threshold” was developed with community involvement and acts as a welcoming gateway to busy downtown Ashland, a major theater destination. The sculpture was inspired by movement and the surrounding natural environment, particularly nearby Lithia Park.
Process
I developed the piece with input from the city council, arts commission and community members. I worked closely with the landscape designer to integrate the sculpture and Gateway Island planting.
