Overview

‘OUR UNIVERSE’, L.E.D. RGB LIGHT ILLUMINATED PAINTING, 28″x54″. Commissioned piece for residential. The clients request was for an outer space painting with personal favorite images imbedded in the planets, such as a dog, bird, Inca cross and mountains. The art is plugged into a standard 220V, 3-prong wall socket. A remote control governs the lighting brightness, timing for the 7-color fade sequence, single color pause and power ON/OFF. The art can be viewed with or without backlighting.

Goals

The client requested an outer space painting with personal favorite images, a dog, bird, Inca Cross and mountains imbedded in the piece. I chose to insert these images as constellations within the planets and the sun. These images fade in and out of view depending on the color of the painted image and the color of the RGB lighting.

Process

Evolite in Denver Colorado custom built the L.E.D. RGB Fiber Optic Panel. Woodworker, Kent Kobakoff designed and built the stretcher bars that permanently encase the fiber optic panel. He then stretched the canvas around custom frame. I exicuted the art work. An electrician installed the art in the the clients resident.
