Overview
From Yu Wen’s website:
Terrain is a manifestation of Wu’s bicultural upbringing–the eastern and western influences in her life and art. This work is a visualization of journey, process and conceptual terrains. It embodies a Song dynasty landscape and that of the western Hudson River School mountain ranges. Beyond a natural landscape the work charts man made terrains. Data visualization of economic trends mirror lines of mountainous topographies.
Goals
Amaral Custom Fabrication goal was to imitate bronze casting in a much lighter material to meet wall loading limitations. Water jet cut from aluminum, then hand painted and patinated, aluminum brought us well within weight restrictions. Custom anchors were designed to allow ease of installation, and to facilitate future removal in case of maintenance.
Additional Information
Working backwards during the entire application of welded anchor points, ACF tracked all details and mastered a full scale template for installation.
