Overview
Tea House, 15' h x 12' l x 12' w; cast & fabricated bronze and stone
Goals
My client is a Master Gardener and cultivates numerous and diversely themed gardens located on an expansive property. Designing a sculptural environment that was duly functional and deeply integrated into the landscape was extremely important to this project. My client specifically requested a tea house and holistic environmental design design that would invite quiet contemplation, intimate gatherings and a sense of oneness with the surrounding Asian themed garden. The water that flows from the bronze faucet is supplied by a natural spring located on the property.
Process
I worked with the project landscape architect and arborist to strategically plan the location and positioning of the tea house. I also worked with the stone mason in selecting stones that would aesthetically enhance he bronze elements and further guided the masons to actualize my artistic vision per plan.
