Overview

To bring awareness of the arts to State Street because of a diminishing arts culture through a loss of galleries that have been closing over the last 10 years.

Goals

To bring more traffic to State Street in Madison and the sponsoring retail agent, Michaelangelo's. The goal was to enhance the environment through various installations such as paintings and sculptures to guide the viewer into and out of the environment and trigger positive reactions through their various senses.

Process

Working with a variety of artists and craftsmen a plan was set out to install all of the work involved beginning with installation pieces such a dichroic light sculptures that had to take the entire space into account. Larger paintings and sculptures were positioned on the main walls while smaller works enhanced the corridors, hallways and rooms like slides in a film telling a story of the artists journey through this project spectacular.
