Overview
This 10 Ft. high x 15 Ft. wide bas-relief is also an addition to the nearby 300ft. water wall with our 3ft. diameter bronze nine service medallion attachments representing the branches of military service. This monument is located between the Field Museum and Soldier Field Stadium of Chicago's Museum Campus.
Goals
This Soldier Field Veterans monument gives tribute to the men and women in our armed forces today and also focuses on their families and friends who support them. The zigzag composition of the bas-relief gives the illusion of depth and illustrates the figures along Chicago's Lakefront with the Chicago skyline in the background.
Process
We collaborated with the architects who renovated Soldier Field, the Chicago Park District, and the City of Chicago. The architects designed the granite water wall and our concept was adding nine bronze service medallions on the water wall so the water would flow behind the medallions.
Additional Information
The budget of $775000 was just for the bronze sculptures.
