Overview
Three transepts of the Holy Trinity Church in Shanghai. The windows are quite small the largest windows are about 10ft by 2ft but intensively worked using flashed glass, acid etching, traditional glass painting and silverstaining. The rose windows are around 40 inches in diameter.
Goals
The brief for the first transept, behind the altar was to make windows that felt like the original windows that were all destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. The two images here are for the two smallest windows, the rose windows.
Process
The project is a collaboration between the artist, myself, and the Derix Studio in Germany.
Additional Information
The project is ongoing, two phases are now completed.
