Client: Johns Hopkins

Overview

We worked with an established art consultant to create this custom artwork for the Medical Imaging Center at Johns Hopkins in Bethesda, MD. The Center offers a wide range of radiology exams and procedures and we wanted to create a specific art piece that referenced nature and told a story of the geography of the area. We researched maps of waterways near the location of the facility and settled on Rock Creek for its visual interest and familiarity to those who visit or work at the Center. By referencing a knowable place, the artwork creates a sense of familiarity and ownership to those who interact with it.

Goals

The materials and finish are durable and can withstand touching. The ease of maintenance for the final piece is also an added bonus.
