Overview

An engraving of the interior Internal Revenue Service’s new office as a forested ruin is superimposed over the wavering reflection of the actual office. Mouth-blown glass laminated to industrial mirror, design sandblasted and filled with ceramic melting colors, steel frame, 316 in (802.6 cm) x 161 in (408.9). Commissioned through the Art in Architecture Program, Fine Arts Collection, U.S. General Services Administration. Fabrication: Mayer of Munich. Installation: Kuritzky Glass Company, Inc.

Goals

The goal of the artwork was to add light and nature to the site in keeping with the general goals of Jonathan Levi's repurposing of the Andover Internal Revenue Offices.

Process

The project was developed in close collaboration with Jonathan Levi, the architect of the repurposing of the Andover Internal Revenue Offices.
