Overview
Five artist-designed rest stops along a 1¼ mile section of the Midtown Greenway, a popular urban greenway/trail. Each rest stop includes sculptural benches with cast bronze shoes and a marker/sign asking a question of visitors. Each site has a distinctive theme related to journeys through the neighborhood and in our lives – Nature, Culture, Entertainment, Work and the Past. The shoes and questions reflect the diverse history and culture of the areas along the greenway. Bronzes are cast from shoes collected from neighborhood residents. Materials: Concrete, Cor-ten steel, mild steel, bronze and aluminum.
