Client: Monroe County Art in Public Places

Overview

4ftH x 9ftW. Oil paint on clay-formed canvas. Depicts the vast oceanscape of the Florida Keys.

Goals

Being a courthouse, there was a desire to have the artwork create a calming, serene atmosphere.

Process

I worked with the arts administrator to select the most appropriate location within the building. Working with her, the architect and interiors coordinator we determined the size and placement for the artwork.

Additional Information

The 88.8 in the title refers to the mile marker of Plantation Key the location within the Florida Keys. Key West is mile marker 0.
