Overview
407 ft mural designed for a construction fence in lower Manhattan. Design based on several paintings created entirely in Illustrator and printed on Vinyl for outdoor use.
Goals
The integration was pivotal in the design. The design had to be approved by Downtown Alliance of Lower Manhattan as well as the Developer who owns the site. Color, liveliness, energy, and interest were very important as this mural was placed along a highly traveled street and in path of many pedestrians.
Process
The artist designed the mural and worked with the Downtown Alliance's chosen consultant as well as printer and installers to bring the project to fruition.
Additional Information
The project was highly successful and was written about in Wall Street Journal. It was very well received by the public and created a beautiful site on a usually unsightly surface, ie. construction fencing. It allowed for people to enjoy this space as the construction of the building proceeded.
