Overview

This is a Club Project which is situated in Kolkata, the capital city of the state of West Bengal in India. The size of the project is 3252 sqmt (35000 sqft) in area. It encapsulates activity zones like Banquet hall, SPA, Library, Guest rooms, mini theatre (100 seater), Gym and a swimming pool.The brief clearly indicated that the club has to be modern, friendly and welcoming within limited budget..

Goals

This project is very youthful with vibrant colors and on modern lines.. the artwork had to complement the style - the artwork was also meant to soften the ambiance at places by means of small water fountains producing gurgling sounds, vertical green wall installations and some very simple artworks reflecting the city horizon of Kolkata. This was of total importance as the club is a gathering place for all age groups with different mind set. The ambiance has to sooth every guest's nerve and make her/him relaxed and joyful.

Process

Being the Interior Designer of the project, we had to collaborate with artists and sculptors to come up with the correct misx of ideas to fit into the mood board of design. after several brain storming sessions, fews ideas of green vertical walls, fountains with rippling water sound, city skyline and some hand done caricatures from famous Bengali movies were finalized. Then the ideas were put into execution and successfully implemented.
