Overview

For the OGX (Ogden Express) BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) line a double station windscreen was designed for the 25th & Harrison station, printed on laminated glass. The series is called “Fields, Folds, and Fabric”, 2022, it is an amalgam of digital work alongside pictures of tactile objects, collages, prints, fabric, pixels, landscapes, and Art-deco elements exploring the ambiguous realms that we as a society are currently navigating.

Anything latent has an infinite potential of becoming, within the field of the unfolding. The fabric of life is embodied through the sensations, the human experience synthesizes this emergent field, where the tangible and the virtual seek emotional connectivity.

Goals

Ogden City Arts supports the belief that the arts are an integral part of a healthy culture, providing both intellectual nourishment and social benefit, and that community arts programs provide significant value both to communities and to artists.
Ogden City Arts’ mission is to enrich the lives of Ogden residents and visitors by ensuring access to visual, performing, and literary arts and arts education. In supporting arts organizations and independent artists Ogden City Arts works to connect the arts to daily life, education, and
economic development.

Process

In an overlaying amalgam of imagery outlines from the Ogden High school (1937) ArtDeco building, interior and exterior can be found in between the shapes and colors, skyline and horizon delineating the city and mountains. The colors are inspired by the works of Gio Ponti and De Chirico both major influences in the Art Deco movement that was born in Europe and arrived in the USA.

Additional Information

MONIKA BRAVO
I am a multi-disciplinary artist born in Bogotá, Colombia. I studied fashion design in Rome & Paris and photography in London and NYC. I moved to Miami Beach, in 2020. I embody my own perspective and no longer seek “truth”; my vision is a synthesis of all disciplines, guiding me to manifest a reality that matches my desire to evolve. I create mesmerizing environments for public spaces, intimate interpersonal interactions through astrological readings, and meaningful spaces for individual and communal development through talks and workshops. I enjoy directing and producing diverse projects, from complex multi-media installations and public art commissions to artists’ books, textile design, and community workshops – thus, I see no boundaries between the applied and fine arts. I thrive in situations where I am working with limitations and constraints, creating opportunities for innovative projects that serve communities for years to come. I enjoy challenging myself with new technologies and materials, discovering new ways of manifesting my ideas to fit the needs of the location.
