Overview
These are two large site-specific murals for an exterior courtyard at Industry City, Brooklyn, NY. The murals are situated across from each other on opposite sides of a large courtyard. The murals’ designs incorporate several features of the walls, including bricked-in windows, protruding ledges and fixtures. Their title, “Evolution”, refers to their changing design process of the works, as well as a hopeful change in human behavior/spirituality in experiencing great works of art.
Goals
Goals were to beautify, activate, and engage the spaces.
Process
After discussing the goals of the project, I gave the clients several designs and we chose the strongest ones. I reworked the designs until the clients and my team were satisfied.
Additional Information
The murals have been well received by everyone who sees them, both residents and vistors.
