Overview
Eagle is an exclusive community on the outskirts of Boise. Bob and Iris have a living room there with two story windows. It is the formal room of their home and is bathed in sunlight much of the day. Iris Is an award winning floral designer who has been featured in numerous magazines and articles around the state. Their appreciation of color and "flow" led them to request a piece that fit the volume of this unique, split-level setting.
Goals
The piece had to be distinctive - but not overpowering in its setting. Sunlight and motion options were carefully considered along with the swing diameter and overall height.
Process
Detailed dimensions of the room were provided along with photographs throughout the day. On-site visits were coordinated to insure proper impact the sculpture would have in this environment. The intent was to have a subtle but provocative piece that did not dominate the established decor.
Additional Information
Rigging plans have been agreed upon. A stipulation was that no visible marks were permitted in the domed ceiling. The mobile is complete and installation is set for this summer.
