Client: North American Avalon Properties

Overview

My sculptural themes dance around modern simple geometric designs based on arcs and circles- occasionally a straight line. The height of the work is 77″ and is mounted on a granite block. The material is the 316 series of stainless steel.

Goals

Avalon is an elegant high end shopping district, filled with paved roads, flowers and shrubs, fountains, stores, restaurants and movie theater's. The work had to compliment the environment, and yet serve as a memory point.

Process

I submitted a first round of 8-10 drawings, which were narrowed down to 1. I then redesigned the work

Additional Information

I've heard so many interpretations, some viewers have seen a a pair of Swans, some eternal flames, some leaves of a tulip bulb, but I see something different still.
