Overview
Dr. Daniel E. Jenkins (1866-1927) was born in North Wales and educated at Wooster University in Ohio, Melbourne University in Australia, Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania, the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, and Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey. After becoming an ordained Presbyterian minister in 1891, he came to Omaha to serve at Omaha’s Presbyterian Theological Seminary. In 1908, he founded the University of Omaha and served as the university’s first president from 1908 until 1926.
Goals
MY goal for this sculpture was to honor Dr. Rev. Daniel Jenkins with his many accomplishments and create a focal point of the campus with this bronze portraiture.
