Overview
Four panels, each 40″ x40″, pieced silks, hand quilted, and hand transcribed with the names of donors.
Goals
Very important as symbol of appreciation and recognition for individual donors to fundraising efforts.
Process
Project was commissioned through an art consultant, with total freedom for me to create concept and design to honor donors. My only interactions were with the consultant, who served as the liaison with the facility (her choice).
Additional Information
I created a work that was based on the four seasons as described in the Bible, describing the four seasons of man; with the healthcare facility being the setting where each of these seasons are often experienced. The presence of the human hand, both in the construction of the work, and the handwritten donor names, conveyed the caring nature of the institution, and made the work accessible to all.
