The digital water curtain is placed right in the heart and hub of the city at Houston Center, downtown’s largest office complex.
Houston Center presents an innovative space for innovative thinkers, connecting places to people and people to each other in this modern and dynamic mixed-use office campus with the amenities to retain and attract top talent.
At one side of the outdoor plaza, a modern digital water curtain gateway releases droplets of water in digitally programmed patterns and letters that glisten with the sun before they disappear into the ground.

The customer wanted to place, at the outdoor plaza garden, a high technology water feature suited for this modern space which could become an iconic element to bring attraction, freshness and enhance the quality of the urban landscape. This digital waterfall is presented in the form of an elegant gateway, thoughtfully designed with style, to create a beautiful, interesting and vibrant environment by providing artistic and visual comfort to the public.

A work team of architects, engineers and designers from all companies involved in the project collaborated, in a very efficiently way, to make this modern water feature installation happen.
The 20’ long Digital Water Curtain drops the water graphics and patterns from a 16’ height, raining down to entertain, amaze and refresh the people around in the city’s hot summer days.
The digital water curtain is a very sustainable alternative to introduce architectural water features into an urban landscape because it is quite cost effective, it needs little water and little energy to work. Water is always recycling, being at all times filtrated and chemically treated, so it is always flowing clean and safe for the people

Additional Information

The digital waterfall is lighted for atop with colorful LED lights, illuminating the falling water displays in bright colors at night, creating a richly woven tapestry of water and light in many colors. This installation can be remotely controlled over the internet, so the operations team can comfortably operate the system from their offices, placed on the top floors of the building, quite far from the machine room, physically located under the parking below the waterfall.
