Overview
Changing a 12 panel rectangle to a flowing 14 panel horizontal composition was a challenge. The client fell in love with the colors and luminosity of my glass kiln fused onto copper panels but needed me to reconfigure and add 2 panels to the 12 I had made. The client was very specific in his measurements. I enjoyed repositioning and reworking my design to accomplish this assignment.
Goals
The client loved the colors of my rectangular composition but wanted the panels to fit below the hanging light source and above the top of the chairs. My challenge was to create two new panels to add to the current 12 panels AND to rework the existing 12 into a flowing composition of 7 across and 2 down.
Process
Transitioning the deep red panels into the dark blues and adding two panels required my laying the panels in the new configuration of 7 across and 2 down. Carefully, I added color to each panel to recreate the "flow" of the first composition. Each panel required re-firing several time to accomplish this goal.
