Overview
The Coral Gables Residence was a full-range renovation that transformed a traditional, outdated home into a contemporary artistic haven. Over 3,000 sq ft was divided into two phases: master suite including bedroom, closet, and bathroom and living areas included kitchen, living room, family room, dining room, and niches.
Goals
Transforming the dark, compartmentalized interiors into bright, open spaces required emphasis on color palette and art placement. All walls and ceilings were painted in an "almost white" lacquer and accented with vivid and large-scale paintings. These works of art not only created focal points but also visually tied accent pieces and decor items.
Process
KIS prides itself in exceptional work ethic and vigorous team work. As part of a team, uniting members, expressing communication, and engaging in collaborative efforts is key. Through out each stage of the design process, all artists and manufacturers are active including initial concept development to construction finalization.
