Overview
This project was originally designed by the Promotions Department at the Audubon Institute for Breaux Mart, and they strongly recommended me for the project. I took what was a minimal design and elaborated on it for the 17'Tx160'L wall.
Goals
The overall inspiration for the design was to commemorate Breaux Mart's contribution to the Swamp Exhibit at the Audubon Zoo, but it also celebrated the location of their original location, which was in an area of Louisiana surrounded by wetlands. Our goal was to depicted the flora and fauna of the region in a colorful way that would remind passersby that where we stood once looked very different than what it is today.
Process
The wall was pressure washed for me, but my assistants helped to caulk the wall and prime it. I then began drawing scaling it up from the original design using Sharpies, then we base coated the entire wall with the background color for each area. I then began adding details. the whole process took 6 weeks and required a boom lift.
