Overview

Abstract, impactful, and tasteful were the guidelines from an anonymous large corporation who was looking to acquire 2D art for a new 6 story building that was to house their corporate officers. They specifically required “statement” pieces in their main lobby and for the hallway to the executive suite. 2 of my abstract pieces were procured: “A Dash of Blue” (51×60) which is a Timestacked photograph of wildflowers taken in the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, and “Chequamegon Forest,” (38×60) which is also a Timestacked image taken in the namesake national forest in northern Wisconsin. Both images reflect in a subtle and sophisticated way the importance and the commitment this company has dedicated to supporting the environment. Both images are numbered limited edition prints on canvas with a float frame. Timestacking is a process that gives a painterly feel to my work.

Goals

The company envisioned “statement” pieces for the locations within the new building my work was to be placed. The first was near the front door lobby. This is where the corporation’s VIP guests would be entering. The second would be in the hallway near the entrance to the corporate officer’s suite. It was stressed that important guest of the corporation would be passing these locations and the company would need pieces that reflect positively on company’s values and sophistication. The quality and tone of these pieces were critical to the overall ambiance of the hallways.

Process

The company was working with a designed who was familiar with my work and suggested they look at my portfolio. I was fortunate that my pieces were procured. The designer handled all the transactions.
