Rebeca Méndez is a designer, artist and professor at UCLA, Design Media Arts. She is the winner of the 2012 Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award bestowed by The White House, and is recipient of the California Community Foundation Mid Career Fellowship for Visual Artists, 2010. Exhibition venues include the 55th Venice Biennale; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum; and Hammer Museum. In 2015, Méndez was awarded two permanent public art commissions, one from METRO for the LAX/Crenshaw corridor in Los Angeles and from the Tucson January 8 Memorial foundation.
