Beth Kamhi is a Chicago Artist with a working studio in the Cornelia Arts Building in Chicago’s Roscoe Village. Currently Beth’s practice focuses on site specific collaboration and commissioned projects. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design, she is an experienced textile, fashion and interior designer. Beth weaves her love for textiles, form and design into each creation using industrial ball chain, her medium of choice for over15 years. One piece transitions to the next creating a mindful yet intentional flow of modern artwork with a balance of delicate and industrial, juxtaposed gender and sexuality, challenging assumptions of content and form. Thanks to art consultants, interior designers and architects; Beth’s work has been exhibited and acquired by museums, galleries, art centers, colleges, public settings, executive offices and of course, commercial spaces and residences throughout the US. Actively participating in a collaborative art community: Beth is a co-founder of The Margin Gallery Collective (2006-2012) and 3D 12 Sculptors Group (2010 -present) both with extensive exhibitions in the Mid-West region and The Cornelia Arts Building, one of Chicago’s last arts communities on near north side. Beth is a certified WBE.
