Profile Type: artist
Andrée Valley's sculpture is about shape, color, pattern, and lack of orientation. Her sculpture is inspired by music and reflects the color, tempo, and interweaving of sounds. Intense, saturated color defines shapes that are made from aluminum and covered with a powder coat paint that is suitable for indoor or outdoor display. Valley received a B.F.A. from the University of Denver, an M.F.A. from the University of Michigan and spent two years as an artist in residence at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin and teaches at Madison College.
