Overview

A life size bald eagle is clutching a WWII-era American flag cast in bronze and permanently installed atop a 9 foot tall black granite and concrete column. The column has laser etched images and text describing important battles of the war.

Goals

It was important to incorporate a bronze sculpture on top of the column that pays tribute to all those who fought and died during WWII in order to create a visual focal point for the design. The eagle symbolizing long life, great strength and beauty, together with a WWII-era 48 star American flag symbolizing national pride was the chosen design to honor those who fought for during the war.
