This timely sculpture was unveiled on August 26, 2020, an important date that marked the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote in the United States.
This artwork was important due to the underlying meaning and commemoration of the freedom of women's rights. It was significant to make sure every last intricate detail was displayed within the artwork.
UAP was honored to work with Meredith during the fabrication and installation of the sculpture. After the artist delivered her intricately detailed clay patterns to our workshop, UAP cast the work in bronze using the lost-wax casting process. These castings were assembled and welded in the workshop, followed by a patina treatment that was carried out under the artist’s direction.
