Overview
I designed and made all of the metalwork for a significant historical home designed by mediterranean revival architect, Addison Mizner. The project comprised of 8 balcony rails, 2 window grilles, a driveway and pedestrian gates, lighting, doors and door grills, and interior rails. All exterior work was designed for historic landmarks approvals while the interior work was more free form. All exterior works were forged marine grade stainless steel to be maintenance free in coastal south Florida.
Goals
To make a body of work on one property that met historical design needs with maintenance free functionality while adding something nee to the stylistic conversation. Meeting construction deadlines and all local and national standard approvals.
Process
The project began with a great deal of research and design work. I worked with the client, the builders, engineers, and Landmarks Committee for approvals.
Additional Information
Nearly all of this work was created in a 7 month span of time. I managed production and design of several other studios.
