Overview

Jocelyn Russell was commissioned by the state of Utah to design and create a bronze monument of the Utah State Aggies mascot bull, At twice life-size this sculpture is this monumental bronze sculpture is 12' long x 10' high x 6' wide and weights 2200 pounds.

Goals

The goal of this commission was to help identify the Utah State University Uintah Basin campus in Vernal. This piece needed to be similar but different than the bronze bull on the Logan USU campus, Jocelyn incorporated motion into the this sculpture.

Process

The twice life-size bull monument was commissioned on behalf of the Bingham Entrepreneurship and Energy Research Center for the USU Uintah Basin campus through the Utah Public Arts Program. The original design was created by Jocelyn Russell
