Day in and day out women and men are work hard (against odds) to heal, comfort and cure people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.
NHS is the backbone of a just society, a society where people can receive free care and treatment and where people from all walks of life
tcan flourish professionally if they are hard working and dedicated.

WAR PAINT

Organisations like the NHS are made up of a hierarchy where no part is expendable – every single person is important.
This is much like the fundamental organisation of man – the tribe. Tribes mark events, status, emotions and intention through ‘war-paint’,
facial marks and masks that creates a ‘belonging’ and sends signals to the surrounding world of intentions and functionality within the group.

The artwork is a play on the war-paint of tribes, that mask of professionalism and an expression of the layers that makesthe NHS. It is also a
way of expressing multiculturalism, the complex makeup of a person and the relationship between different people.

Goals

Tribe seeks to bring staff and patients together, create place and express relationship all these have with the new extension. First stage of the creative process was a photographic workshop in the hospital where we captured images of a range of people who wanted to participate in the artwork - children adults, patients, portes, consultants, doctors, nurses, receptionist, canteen personel. All ages, races and backgrounds to express that every single one is an important part og what makes this system work.

The silhouette photos where then digitised and 3D revolved forms of each phase transformed into an artwork component.
