Overview

Tree Whimsy was created for the newly constructed Pediatric Cardiac Care Unit of University Hospital in San Antonio. Floor to ceiling corridor artworks were printed on Acrovyn by Design wall covering. Dimensional Murals were designed for an entrance monitor wall (8' x30') and for the children's play room (8'x14'). The dimensional murals were printed on EcoBella wall covering then die cut acrylic prints were affixed to the surface creating a durable, touchable, dimensional mural.

Goals

My goal was to create a whimsical thematic environment that would provide young patients and their families a positive distraction during hospital stays.

Process

I worked closely with the UHS Art Consultant a committee of Doctors, Nurses and Child Life Specialists while creating the imagery. I worked with the designers at O'Connell Roberts on placement of art work.
