Client: Salem In Ladue, Methodist Church

Overview

After the sanctuary of this church was remodeled, I was give the extra marble floor tiles to use for these two works of art. Prior to getting the tiles, members of the congregation wrote their gratitude messages on the back of broken tiles pieces during Advent services. I arranged the white and black pieces into a these patterns. On Good Friday these works were installed at the church.

Goals

The goal was to include the church community in the creation of this work. There participation was meaningful to all involved. If was a great experience to be able to make works for both the outside, at the entrance, and for this inside of the church.
