Overview

Each Star Bale is 6′ x 6′ x 6′. They have an internal wooden structure that is then wrapped in hay and covered with the netting that most hay bales use. The piece covers about 3 acres.

Goals

Vedic City is surrounded by farm land. This piece was designed to glorify the typical rural agricultural environment.

Process

The artist/designer conceived the piece and the designed the construction technique. The collaborator helped with the physical construction. A farmer was consulted to determine the placement of the Star Bales out in the field.

Additional Information

The Star Bales were in place for 1 1/2 years. Obviously, it was not designed to last forever. Everyone loved it.
