Project Team
Overview
Tea and Tree is two sculptures located inside the main international terminal, and is a representation of the cultural tradition in the Jieyang region of the harvesting and daily ritual consumption of tea.
Goals
For this project, I wanted the artwork to activate and brighten the largely monochromatic terminal, and create a sense of intimacy within its cavernous interior space.
Process
For this project, I assembled and directed a team comprised of a 3D computer modelling programmer, structural engineer, fiberglass fabricator, general contractor, and conservator, in coordination with airport and local government officials.
