Overview
“Stretching Out” is a stainless steel sculpture approximately six feet tall, six feet wide and 4 feet deep. It was designed to be modular and assembled on location.
Goals
Our client lives in an historic row house in Philadelphia, with a small backyard. He asked us to design a sculpture that would fill this space, but be modular, so that it would be easy to transport across the country and easy to get into the narrow access for the yard.
Process
My husband and I were the sole artists involved in this project. We involved our client in the process by sending him jpegs of first the maquette and then images of the actual piece for input into design elements as we fabricated the piece. He was then on hand when we did the installation, for input s the the precise placement/orientation of the sculpture.
