Client: Rich-Smith Development

Overview

Stellar is a modern stainless steel sculpture we designed and fabricated for Rich-Smith Development. The piece extrudes upward from a led lit water feature, centered in a roundabout located at the entry of The Pointe at North Hills Luxury Apartments located in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Stellar stands 25’H and has a 6′ diameter fire burner fixtured in a polished hemisphere 20 feet up in the air. This is our fourth project with Rich-Smith Development and we are now working on designs for two more properties.

Goals

The owner of Rich-Smith Development wanted something that would make a statement as visitors enter the property and approach the club house. We maintained a similar design style with movement finish and incorporated the ring at the bottom which can be found in pieces at other complexes. We always strive to create designs that are interesting and strong from all angles. We are beyond pleased with the finished product.

Process

We worked directly with Keith, the owner of Rich-Smith Development and his design team to create a design that fit the vision for the space. As with many of our projects we submitted a series of proposed schematic designs rendered digitally into architectural programs to get a feel for how the piece would look in relation to the facade of the clubhouse. After a design was confirmed we moved into the fabrication phase of the project. Four months later we were ready to bolt it down and light it up.
