Overview
These three whimsical leaf designs were created as playful seating for a site specific location on a pedestrian Green Belt along the Boise River. The art benches are powdercoated and fabricated from 1/2″ x 4″ steel.
Goals
These benches create a moment to pause and rest. Sunlight plays off of line and negative space, casting shadows that change throughout the day and become part of the artwork. Bold lines and bright colors are captivating to children and invite play. The forms are a sturdy weatherproof construction of powder coated 1/2” x 4” solid steel. These fun and functional benches are digitally rendered in CAD and can be produced at any scale and in any color.
Process
Madacsi Studios submitted an RFQ to a call for artisticly designed benches for the Garden City (ID) Green Belt and was selected to design and create a bench for a site specific location.
Additional Information
The first of its kind in the Treasure Valley, The Garden SITy Art Bench Project commissions artists to design and fabricate artistic benches to be placed along the Greenbelt and in the City parks.
