Overview
Seed Spire is inspired by the spiraling movement of tree seeds in the wind. This dynamic sculpture features waterjet cut, organic steel forms that are connected to a central column in a spiraling configuration. The sculpture creates a kinetic impression as viewers move around the work. In this manner, the movement of viewers becomes part of the experience of the work itself. At night, the artwork is dramatically illuminated with slowly changing colors, creating an iconic and vibrant sculptural beacon.
Goals
The goal of this project was to create a new landmark sculpture for Richard Greene Linear Park and a gateway to the new Texas Live Entertainment District near AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field.
