Overview
Revision is a stainless steel and glass sculpture with an overall size of 8'x12'x8'. The main part of the sculpture was fabricated in stainless steel sheet metal and welded together. There are three different shades of glass from light blue to dark cobalt.
Goals
The site for this commission is a residential poolside and the main goals for the project were to create a sculpture that was visually impressive while also providing shade. The goals were realized through the creation of these tree forms which are visually striking from a distance and create an immersive environment beneath the canopy. The light that comes through the glass is one of the most effective aspects of the work as three shades of intense blue are cast down to the patio surface and into the pool.
Process
The process to realize this work began with a simple conversation and evolved through many conversations to the final product. Larry and Beth are both very dedicated to perfection when it comes to this type of work, and the combination of their desires with the artists vision is what drove this project to completion.
