The Quayle building was developed as an apartment building which included a portion of affordable housing. They were looking for art that would create an impact and relate to the people living there.
The main goal was to install a piece that would enliven the space and to conceptually relate to to usage of the building
I had recently started making larger house forms with colored acrylic face's for a collector as part of a larger piece. When Nine Dots contacted me about this project, I presented them the idea of the house since the intent of this building was to be apartments for people to live in. They loved the idea and thus we started hashing out quantities, color schemes and basic layouts.
