Client: Distinctive Art Source

Overview

Several years after the large hospital was completed (including six of my batiks), another “tower” medical building was added and the client contacted me about two batiks in my inventory. They are in the Elevator Lobby/Family Waiting Room on the third floor.

Goals

This area has a light, airy feeling because of high windows and growing plants. My batiks complement this feeling and show images of water, a source of healing especially in the desert of New Mexico.The medium of batik lends interest as an unusual artform with a contemporary feel.

Process

To an artist, one of the best forms of flattery is having a repeat customer. Collaboration with the client was minimal since existing art was purchased, and the client had my complete trust in decisions about framing and hanging.
