Overview
20-foot bronze Panther on top of water feature located in front of Qubein Arena. I was commissioned to design and create a Panther Fountain for the entry to the newly built arena/conference center/hotel.
Goals
Ideas should resonate with fans and engage students and visitors. Artwork should fit within the values of the University. The artwork should impact the inspiring environment. It should uniquely impact and “wow” students, families, fans, and visitors.
Process
Constant communication throughout the design process of what the client needed and wanted. Once design was decided on, a small-scale 7-foot version was sculpted. That was fine-tuned to match the client's liking. The 20-foot version was then created and cast at Artworks Foundry. My fountain design came to life with the much-needed help of LKC Engineering, PLLC, and the built by the client.
