Client: Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution

Overview

Nova is an LED sculpture with 21,600 multi-colored LEDs. It displays montages of photographs, videos, and generative patterns while classical music surrounds the visitors, who are invited to lay down and relax a while.

Goals

I installed Nova as part of the "No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man" exhibition at the Renwick Gallery.

Process

I created the software and the physical design. Most of the pieces are laser cut directly from the design, but a lot of assembly is required. I have a lot of good friends who help with this.
