Client: Nemour Children's Hospital

Overview

The Nemours Children’s Hospital specializes in pediatric care in central Florida. The facility is designed with families in mind providing all levels for medical care. The hospital has artwork throughout the facility and commissioned this multi-layered color acrylic artwork for the exterior two story entrance to hospital auditorium.

Goals

A large wall outside of the hospital auditorium was selected for a multi-layered acrylic artwork. The bright sailboats and spinnakers abstractly reflected in water can be viewed on both entry levels to the auditorium and the staircase aside the artwork. Families & staff can view educational training films, along with patient entertainment in the auditorium, while at the hospital. The theme of the artwork is families sailing on water, with vibrant color sails boats and spinnakers.

Process

Distinctive Art Source facilitated the initial visit to the hospital during early construction. I met with the architect and hospital personnel to attain a sense of their vision for the facility artwork.
