Overview

These two batiks are in the Cancer Waiting area of the Medical Office Building. Both are stretched and framed much like oil paintings, with plexiglass for UV protection.

Goals

The image of calm water is meant to help in the healing process.

Process

I was contacted by the client and commissioned to create two batiks that would hang together but not necessarily be a diptych in the technical sense. Collaboration was smooth because the client was familiar with my work. I based the design on a batik I had created previously, though all my work is original.
