Overview
Alfredo and Pavlina Alea designed, fabricated and installed 4 decorative fence panels along the perimeter of Miami Springs Aquatic Center. All panels were fabricated from powder coated aluminum and each has dimensions of 70″ x 57″ x 1/4″. These fence panels were engineered to withstand hurricanes. The artist team also created the aluminum wall sculpture placed at the entrance column to the center. This sculpture is made of clear coated aluminum and has dimensions of 60” x 40” x ¼”.
Goals
Our goal was to create a whole cohesive artistic complex with multiple views. Placing a sculpture at the entrance column and fence designs on the perimeter of the Aquatic Center allowed visibility both from the parking lot and from inside the pool area. We wanted our designs to be water related and inspirational to create a positive experience for the public. The sculpture and fence equally enhance and complement the modern architecture.
Process
Alfredo and Pavlina equally participated in the design, production, installation and project coordination.
